10 best things about A Christmas Story
I’ve wanted to write a review of A Christmas Story for about six years now. Even before I started doing reviews regularly, I wanted to do it. Every year I tell myself this is going to be the year I write it, this is going to be the year I do it, and then it never happens. The problem with trying to do a review of A Christmas Story is that if you’re under 50 you either know the movie or don’t want to. I wouldn’t find it impossible to believe that a person had just never managed to see it, but I would think that person maybe didn’t have it high on their priorities and didn’t want to see it. And while sometimes it’s fun to play along, I don’t want to do a review just to reinforce the feelings we have for this movie. So I decided on a 10 best list. And then, I decided to go one step beyond and do this 10 best list. Not agreed favorites, not what we all love, but my own personal favorites. These are the things I love.

Cartoon Review: A Charlie Brown Christmas
Notice: This may very well be the darkest review I've ever done, be advised. This isn’t a joke, this is really the meanest I’ve ever been to a cartoon. Any children may want to ask their adults, who are usually the big crybabies in these things, to leave the room. If you can’t take an honestly critical eye aimed at one of your childhood favorites, turn away now. Anyone who gives me any soppy “You raped my childhood” bullshit will be met with derision and some version of the sentence “I fucking told you, bitchpants!” If your childhood was so fragile that it can be shattered by my shining a bright light on things, then it’s time for you to grow the fuck up anyway. Besides, as we all know, your childhood is into it. Your childhood likes it rough.

TV Review: History of Christmas
There isn’t much funny about a title screen.
Let’s change format a little and review a DVD instead of just a movie. You’ll understand why in a moment. The DVD I intend to review is The History of Christmas
, which is from The History channel, or as they seem to be calling themselves now just HISTORY. I don’t know if you can get this DVD outside of North America, I don’t know if they bother importing TV documentaries from an American Cable Network. HOWEVER!
